Goodness....

Was my last post really March 1st? Where has the time gone and what have I been doing? I wish I could say I have been working out like a mad woman.....but I haven't. I have managed a few 3 mile walks around the lake but my new goal is to jump start training over Spring Break. It's nice how life has all of these little built in starting blocks!

If truth be told, I have been spending way too much time on Facebook! My newest addiction...with several friends (and they will all admit it) is Bejeweled Blitz. It's a silly little game that lasts only 1 minute, but it's amazing how fast time goes by when you play "just one more game" for about half an hour....okay, maybe a little more. It has been fun to catch up with old friends and make new connections on Facebook!

Work has been very busy! We are winding up for that "little test" called the WASL (Washington Assessment of Student Learning) and have been working very hard to prepare for that. Our fourth grade Math Is Cool Team competed last week and got 2nd over all and two of my kiddos place 5th and 6th out of 150 students! That was a very exciting week!

I did go to dinner at yummy Twigs with my friend, Christine....she is a friend that I have reconnected with and have gotten to know better through Facebook....love that Facebook. She is one of those people that goes through ups and downs and downs and ups and just keeps going with a smile on her face.....great inspiration. Then we saw "He's Just Not That Into You"....we laughed a lot! Sometimes things hit a little too close to home....oh, the hours we have logged waiting for the phone to ring! Oh, brother.....

Holly was here last weekend so Scott, Holly and I went to Red Lobster for dinner....again, YUM! Shannon doesn't like seafood and she was working so it was just the three of us. It was fun and we had some good conversation...and a nice little "sightseeing tour" of Couer D'Alene. We had a little adventure on the way back, Scott is always thinking of his mother's safety and wanted to make sure the safety features on my car work.....the car engine does turn off if you pull the key out of the ignition while it is running...even on the freeway! Whew! I always worried about that one....we pulled over and everyone was safe. It was quite a chuckle...I actually thought he was sneaking in a side trip to Cabellas. :)

Saturday night was Ladies' Night Out. Sue, Carol and I went to see "Ain't Misbehavin" with Ruben Studdard. I enjoyed the show. It wasn't quite what I expected but I enjoyed it. My favorite part of the night though was dinner before the show. We went to a place called Herbal Essence. I had never been. It was trendy and VERY good! It also happened to be a ZAGS night and they won at the buzzer! It was the perfect "dessert" for good company, good food and good wine.

The other big focus this week has been the beginning of March Madness. My bracket has fallen apart but it is so much fun to watch. I love college basketball! One of Scott's teammates from middle school actually plays for Cleveland State so it's been even more fun to watch.

Whew! I think I am all caught up. Shannon is finishing up finals tomorrow and has been working a lot! She is staring Spring Break Wednesday and I am starting Friday. We are both really looking forward to that! I hope the weather cooperates a little!

Love Brad Paisley!

Last Thursday, Shannon, Holly, Scott and I went to one of the best concerts I have ever been to! We went to the Dierks Bently/Brad Paisley Concert. "The Paisley Party!" It was fantastic!
Shannon and I drove into town together and parked at the arena and walked through the park to meet Scott and Holly for dinner. It was a beautiful walk and reminded us of our last concert adventure when we went with Jackie to see Carrie Underwood. We had a lot of fun that night, too.

A Spokane Landmark.....

Obviously we haven't started "the big melt" yet, but the river is still running pretty well...

We met Scott and Holly at the Olive Garden. We thought we might beat the crowd but we didn't. We had about a 45 minute wait but it was still very yummy!

We got to the concert just in time for the opening act, Crystal Shawanda. Scott and Holly found our seats while Shannon and I bought our shirts. Shirts are a tradition!! Next came Dierks. We didn't miss a minute of Dierks! This was my second time to see him in concert...love, love, love seeing him live in concert!
Finally, Brad Paisley! For some reason I thought Brad would be a great performer who would stand on stage and sing all of his #1 hits.....boy was I wrong! He puts on one amazing show!! He has a huge screen divided in three sections behind him and there is almost always something amazing happening on the screens......

He had 3 runways that he was always running up and down so everyone could see him!

He took time to include some "local flair"....this is a picture of "Heroes and Legends" but he pictures of a lot of other local hot spots, too....

.....and....can you guess which song this was the background for?

One of the biggest highlights of the show was when a surprise visitor (Allison Krauss) stopped by to sing her duet, Whiskey Lullaby, with Brad....simply amazing. (Sorry for the picture quality..it was off the screen)This was from one of my favorite videos running on the screen. It was to the song "Alcohol"....
If you get a chance to catch a Brad Paisley concert...do it! I will definitely be there!
