Holly's Seattle Shower

Holly's sisters, Jill and Caitlin, and her jump rope friend, Mary, gave Holly a bridal shower. We didn't want to miss it. After a busy day on Saturday, Shannon and I had a leisurely morning at the hotel and then headed over to Holly's house to go with everyone to the shower. Scott's task for the day was to work on "Thank You" cards for gifts they have already received. What a great guy!

While we were waiting, one of Jill's sweet daughters, Mataya, was hanging out with us. I was simply amazed how quickly Scott picked her up off the floor and held her. Apparently, he has found a "golf watching" buddy. She was really watching the golf match on T.V.!

Finally, time for the shower. Oh my goodness! Beautiful doesn't begin to describe her shower. The house and the setting were gorgeous. The hostess and her mother were so gracious and friendly. We felt very welcome.

Holly and her cake. It was very yummy!

Holly, Shannon and me....

We played a game to see who knew Holly best. Everyone was concentrating very hard. It turned out that Shannon knows her best! Yay, Shan! Holly's mom, Denise, is to the left in this picture. She was a very proud mom! Her flower girl is is in the purple and pink t-shirt, so cute!
It was time for Holly to open her gifts. I think the pile was as big as she was! Those are her sisters in the background. Caitlin is organizing the gifts and Jill is standing.

She received so many nice gifts. She got tons of things for the kitchen, some household items and, well, some other things. :) It was very fun. We had lots and lots of giggles!

Of course, as is tradition, one of Holly's friends made her rehearsal dinner bouquet out of all the ribbons from her gifts. She did a great job!

Jill will be the Matron of Honor in the wedding so she made a sweet toast to Holly. I think Caitlin, the Maid of Honor, gets to do the toast at the wedding. I think Jill got the easier one!

I think the shower was wonderful and am so happy that we were able to go over to Seattle for it. I am excited that the Diffees are coming over this weekend for more pre-wedding celebrations! I am most excited that Holly will soon be part of our family, officially!

Seattle Weekend

The wedding is less than three weeks away! Excitement is building every day. It seems like there is something to do every day now. I think I am getting as excited for the happy couple as they are. Holly's sisters, Caitlin and Jill, and one of her jump rope friends, Mary gave her a Bridal shower last weekend. Shannon and I were happy to be invited.
At about 7:15 Saturday morning, Scott, Shannon and I packed up the car and headed to Seattle. It was a beautiful day! Sunny and mid 80's. We were even able to see Mt. Ranier on the way over. It's not often that you get such a clear picture of it. Beautiful!
When we got to Holly's, we jumped in her mom's car and went to see Freed Farm. This is where the wedding and reception are going to take place. It was so pretty there. As soon as we pulled up, the man who owned the property called to tell us that everything would be mowed before the wedding. Although, Holly thought the wildflowers were kind of pretty.

Here is a little "sneak preview" of the bride and groom on the big day.....
Scott even made her a bouquet out of them. So thoughtful!
This is the backdrop for the reception. It will be a night time wedding. There will be lots of lights, tables, and music. It will be so pretty.

Now, this is a Seattle wedding...please pray for dry weather! There is a plan B for rain but we really want to use plan A!

Next, we took a little tour of where the rehearsal dinner will be held. That was a huge relief to me! It's a little hard to plan things without really seeing it but I trust the Diffees and they were right. It will work perfectly!

Saturday night, the kids and I went to the Mariners game! I get to a game every few years. I really need to try to make this an annual occurrence. I love that stadium and it is so much fun. Especially when they win!
Doesn't Shannon make the field look great?

Some more of my favorite Mariner fans....
The Mariners take the field.....
Everyone loves Moose!Of course, we were very excited to see Ken Griffey, Jr. in person... I wonder if he was as excited as we were.....
I think these are some of the hardest working people in the stadium. Sometimes they have a little dance routine they do but we didn't get to see it this time.
Want a little ketchup with those fries? :)

We had so much fun at the game. Perfect weather, perfect company and we won!! Saturday was a great day and we were ready to head to the hotel and get a good night's sleep to be ready for the main event of the weekend...Holly's shower!
