Shannon's Turn....Happy Birthday!

April 25th is Shannon's favorite day. She has been counting down for days...ok, weeks...for her birthday. She turned 19 this year! It's her last year as a teenager.

She actually started her celebration a couple of weeks ago with her first roadtrip with her friends to Seattle. They went to see a Brittney Spears concert one night and several concerts another night. Three girls on their own in Seattle...how much fun is that! They had a blast.

On her actual birthday, she went to dinner at Cyrus O'Leary's with her friends and then over to Alexis's for some hot tubbing fun and a sleepover. No pictures have been shared with mom...hmmmm. :)
I was able to snap a few at grandma and grandpa's on the day after, tho.
She loves cards....

Look at this nice pose for the camera...

What do you think....picture of innocence?

Time for cake...yum!

We love you!!

Scott's Birthday....A Little Late, Sorry, Scott!

Scott's birthday is actually March 26th (I got it right, Scott!) I am obviously a little...ok, maybe a lot late getting his birthday posted. He turned 23! Goodness. Where has the time gone? As all moms do, I can remember the day he was born and it truly does seem like it was yesterday. I remember his first steps, his first teeth, sitting on his grampa's lamp eating an orange, first swimming lessons, riding a bike for the first time, watching Curious George cartoons over and over.......wow, 23 years!

Has enough time really passed that he has had his first day of kindergarten, middle school, and high school? He has gotten a drivers license, graduated high school and college. Now, he actually has a job in the field he got a degree in (Financial Planning) and is getting married to Holly in 3 short months!! He will off to starting a life of his own.
When my friends with young children are tired and running from here to there and back again, I tell them to try and enjoy every moment. Time goes so incredibly fast!

Enough reminiscing....the great things about birthdays is that they bring out the "kid" in everyone. Mom, Dad and Holly came over to celebrate with us.

Dad and I tend to play "dueling cameras" at our family get-togethers. This is my favorite picture he took of me.
This is my favorite picture he took of Shannon. Do you think she is thinking "I wish it was a month later so it could be my birthday?" Actually, she was waiting for a text to make plans for the night. :)
Scott has recently taken up cycling so he asked for a few things for his bike. It's interesting shopping for my kids at this age. He found the things he wanted online and I used my credit card. The box came and Shannon put a ribbon on it. Surprise!
Hey Holly...just picture me on my bike! Stylin'!
Actually, Shannon did manage to surprise Scott. He told her he wanted something for his bike, a tube for fishing and a boat. She got him all three! What a great sister!

Hope you had a great day, Scott!
