Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner

The anxiously awaited weekend finally arrived! It's wedding time!! We were all so excited. Shannon and I decided to drive to Seattle on Thursday so she could be part of the Bachelorette party. My brother and his family arrived on Tuesday so we invited Amy to come along with us. She was excited to go!

We have all been praying for 1o months for no rain since the wedding and reception was planned for outside. As Holly's (the bride) mom said, "God has a sense of humor!" Not only did we get a dry weekend, Seattle was hit with a record breaking heat wave. Temperatures for the whole week were between 100 and 106 degrees. Seattle is not used to this and no one has air conditioning. Thank goodness we had a hotel! I keep saying Seattle, but we were really in Kirkland and Bothell, which are part of the Seattle area.

Here are Shannon and Amy getting ready to leave for the Bachelorette Party. Of course, moms were not included so this is the only picture I have for that. Don't they look pretty? They are cousins and are only 10 days apart in age. (I spent the night going to dinner with Scott and couple of his groomsmen. It was really fun to spend one last night with my "single son".)
Friday was rehearsal day. Scott, Shan, Amy and I spent the morning decorating for the dinner. We rented a nice hall in Holly's grandma's retirement village. It was perfect for location and space...just wish it would have had a little air conditioning. :) It was a little warm in there!
Tall people get tall jobs!

Shan had been waiting all week to get her hands on that helium machine!

Taking a break after all the hard work.

Our centerpieces for the dinner. Every table had one. Scott's favorite phrase was the inspiration. "Less is More". Everyone enjoyed looking at all the different pictures of the happy couple on each table. The candles were etched with their names and wedding date.
Time for the rehearsal.

My brother and his family found some shade. So smart!!!

Scott was helping to organize. He told me his wish for the wedding was the it turned out just the way Holly imagined it.

The groomsmen were four of Scott's closest friends. He has known them for almost his entire life and even lived with some of them in college. They were awesome this weekend!

Holly's bridesmaids were her two sisters, her cousin and Shannon. Shannon was so excited to be asked!
Look at that face! She is watching Holly walk down the aisle and couldn't be happier for her brother!

Who gives this woman? It was a little tricky figuring out the right way to hand her arm to Scott.

Practicing their vows........

We practiced everything twice and then it was time to eat! For some reason most of my pics turned out blurry except the ones of the groomsmen and the ushers. Hmmmm....very interesting. There really were other people there, 42 to be exact! We had Longhorn BBQ cater for us. That was the best decision we made! It was so yummy and so easy! Who doesn't love BBQ chicken and ribs?
Here are the guys.....trying to duck the camera.

Finally, Scott and Holly practiced cutting the rehearsal dinner cake so they would be ready for the real thing on Saturday!

It was a wonderful day and evening. My wedding blog should be up tomorrow!! They were a beautiful couple!
