The FINAL Wedding Celebration.....:)

Last night, we hosted the "The FINAL Wedding Celebration". As you all know, Scott and Holly were married August 1st. Holly was born and raised on the west side of the state. So, the wedding and reception took place in her home town. Scott was born and raised on the east side of the state. We thought it would be nice to have a Spokane/Medical Lake reception when they got home from their honeymoon.

My friends, Rob and Carol, were gracious enough to offer their home for the party. They have a beautiful home on a local lake. I am sure Friday and Saturday morning they were second guessing that generous offer! Rob worked very hard on the yard to make sure everything was perfect outside. Carol had everything looking perfect on the inside. She was wonderful at doing the behind the scenes work while I was mingling with guests. I think there were a few other people who helped as well...thank you!

My other friend, Mardee. lives across the lake from Carol, so when it was time to set up she came right over. She has a great eye for decorating. I handed her flowers and vases and left. The tables turned out so pretty. (She said she was leaving if I got my camera out while she was working!)
The weather cooperated very nicely, again! The only problem we couldn't solve was the bees! Our guests were such troopers and I don't think anyone got stung. Carol hung the bee traps and we broke out the Bounce dryer sheets (supposed to help??). People had those stuffed everywhere! When the sun went down, the bees went away....whew!

Holly even wore her dress for a little while again...not many brides get a chance to do that. Scott and Holly greeted people as they came while she was wearing her dress. People were wondering where his tux was!
A few members of Holly's family came over from Seattle and her cousins even came from Idaho.Of course, Scott's family and friends came. Several of my friends came, too! I just can't express how nice it was to see everyone come out and celebrate with "Mr. and Mrs. Spilker"....one more time! I hope everyone had a good time. It looked like you did! Sorry, there are quite a few pics here. I didn't want to leave anyone out!

Of course, there was food and another cake. Costco did great on cake sales for all of these wedding celebrations!

To answer the question that this picture always generates, Holly is between 5'2 and 5'3" tall and Scott is 6'4" tall.
The cake said it all!

Love you Scott and Holly! Now you can settle into married life knowing how much support and love you have!
